Over 30 years ago, I made aliyah and became deeply involved in Israel’s shelter and safety infrastructure. As director of a nonprofit dedicated to providing safe rooms for the Israeli public, I have the privilege of helping protect countless lives by placing bomb shelters and other passive security measures where they were most needed.

Over the years, technology has advanced and so have our security needs. Since October 7th, it has become clear to many that having a safe room inside one’s own home is essential. Running to public shelters is not only extremely inconvenient—it can be dangerous. Beyond safety, homes without a shelter often lose value, yet in many apartment buildings, adding a traditional shelter is nearly impossible. Permits, neighbor approval, and heavy construction equipment all make it a daunting challenge.

Today, new technology provides a powerful solution: the ability to shield a regular room and turn it into a safe room in under a week—without the need for major construction. Its effectiveness has already been proven. During the recent Iranian attacks, one building took a direct hit, yet a safe room just seven meters away remained completely unharmed.

I am proud and grateful to be able to bring this cutting-edge protection to individuals across Israel. For me, it is more than a profession—it’s a responsibility to help safeguard lives and homes.
